| Colorado Gators began in 1977 as a fish farm to raise Tilapia for human consumption. The geothermal well is 2,050 feet deep, and 87 degrees F. The first alligators were introduced as "garbage disposals" for dead fish. These were introduced in 1987. Every day visitors get a hands-on experience with live gators, snakes, tortoises and more. If you are real brave, you might want to sign up for a gator wrestling class! |
